This workshop aims to bring together experts and students from the disciplines of earthquake mechanics, seismology, structural geology, and tectonics to foster interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration in earthquake science. Through keynote lectures, tutorials, and contributed presentations, participants will explore topics ranging from Himalayan seismicity and intraplate earthquakes to the physics and mechanics of faulting. Our goal is to introduce early-career scientists and students to the exciting interdisciplinary science behind earthquakes.

The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, is a premier research institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, committed to excellence in basic sciences. As this is a small meeting limited to about 50 participants, preference will be given to PhD students, young researchers, early-career scientists, and researchers whose abstract aligns closely with the workshop themes.
